ACCOUNTABILITY

Federal Report Cards:

Federal Report Cards are created to meet the requirements of the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act), which mandates that each state education agency prepare and publish annual report cards. These report cards include various sections such as student achievement, academic growth, participation, expenditures & graduation rates.

School Report Cards:

The school report card (SRC) combines accountability ratings, data from the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), and financial information to give a broad view of campus performance. Available for each campus in Texas, the SRC is intended specifically to inform parents and guardians about a school’s individual characteristics and its academic performance.

(TAPR)Texas Academic Performance Reports:

Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) formerly known as the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) reports, pull together a wide range of information annually on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas. The reports also provide extensive information on staff, programs and demographics for each school in the district.

(AEIS)Academic Excellence Indicator System Reports:

These reports were published from 2002 to 2012 Year. They may be found at the AEIS Archive. They are now known as (TAPR) Texas Academic Performance Reports.

Performance Rating & Accreditation Status:

The Texas Education Agency awards an accreditation status to each public school district and charter school. The accreditation status is based on the academic accountability rating and financial ratings from the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas. A district or charter must be accredited by the state to operate as a public school.

The State Board of Education shall adopt rules to evaluate the performance of school districts and to assign to each district a performance rating as follows:

  • Exemplary- (meets or exceeds state exemplary standards).
  • Recognized- (meets or exceeds required improvement and within 10
    percent of state exemplary standards).
  • Academically acceptable- (below the exemplary and recognized
standards but exceeds the academically unacceptable standards)
  • Academically unacceptable- (below the state clearly unacceptable
performance standard and does not meet required improvement).
